Do I have to add money to my account? |

Not right away, but eventually you will probably have to when paying a Programmer/Designer the agreed upon fees or if the Programmer/Designer requests that the project fees are placed into "Safe Keeping". Please see the FAQ item on Payments, Safe Transfer, and Job Completion. |
How do I communicate with a Programmer/Designer? |

You may post messages on the message private boards. If you post a private message, only the Programmer/Designer it is addressed to will be able to see it. That Programmer/Designer will also be notified by e-mail that you posted a message to him. |
How do I do I buy services and sign up as a Store Owner? |

If you are new to osCommerce Freelancers, click the Store Owner link at the top or bottom of any page and you will be guided through the registration process. |
How does it work? |
Top... |
After signing up, you may "Create A Project" and provide all the details of the service you want. Programmer/Designers will then be able to view your project and bid on it. This is similar to an auction, with an expiry date whereby you communicate with the Programmer/Designer and negotiate terms on a private message board.
Once negotiated, you choose the winning bidder yourself. The chosen Programmer/Designer will then have the option of accepting your agreed upon terms or declining them within a specified time frame.
If he/she does not respond within the specified time frame (ususally 24 hrs) the Store Owner then has the option of extending his/her project. If the Programmer/Designer responds within the said time frame, he/she will then begin to work on your project. |
How much does this cost? |
Top... |
The fees are based on percentage of project total. As a general rule, it'll cost about 10% to use the service.
The fees are used to support the osCommerce development team, website marketing, and also support features. |
